Targeted Objectives for 2006

•  RECREATION CENTER FUND RAISING INITIATIVE:   By December 31, 2006, a Capital Campaign will be underway to raise funds for a new recreation/community center in Lincoln Heights, cooperatively implemented by LHCIC, the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Support Corporation (7-Hills) and the Village of Lincoln Heights.

•  NEW HOUSING CONSTRUCTION:   By 6/30/07, 6 new owner occupied homes will be built on scattered sites throughout the Village.

•  STEFFEN AVENUE CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT:   The LHCIC will be the lead agency to develop the Steffens Ave. corridor.   By December 2006 LHCIC and/or Village will have site control of 1.6 acres at Steffen and Mangham for a new office building and/or other commercial uses. In addition LHCIC will have acquired 0.5 acres at Steffen and Wayne and begun to prepare the site for construction of a retail/office building and will have lease commitments from 2 new businesses.

•  CINCINNATI POLICE FIRING RANGE/COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT:   By 12/31/06, the Village of Lincoln Heights will have reached an agreement with the Village of Evendale and the City of Cincinnati to relocate the Cincinnati Police Firing Range and develop the 28-acre site for commercial use.

•  VALLEY HOMES REDEVELOPMENT:   The LHCIC will collaborate with the Village of Lincoln Heights to assist the Board of Valley Homes Mutual Housing Corporation to complete a redevelopment plan for new mixed-income housing by 12/31/06.

•  ANTHONY WAYNE INDUSTRIAL PARK EXPANSION:   LHCIC will collaborate with RAB Realty to prepare a 25-acre site on the western edge of the community for commercial development by 12/31/06 and recruit alternative end users should the Department of Labor Job Corps Campus project fail to come to fruition.

•  PREPARE ANNUAL REPORT:   By September 30, 2006, prepare and disseminate an Annual Report on the activities of the LHCIC for the past 2 years that reflect the return on investment made by our funders and that can be used in fund raising activities.

•  WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT:   By December 2006 LHCIC will have a functioning and interactive website that can be used to promote its various development activities and as an information resource for the community and potential investors.
